AS Monaco to sack Thierry Henry? Leonardo Jardim to be reappointed?
Under the Frenchman, the French side have failed to secure a single win at home and are currently facing a battle for relegation.
Much was expected from Arsenal legend Thierry Henry when he took over the reins as manager at his former club AS Monaco, last October. It was the first time in his managerial career that he had an opportunity to head a club having previously served as an assistant to Roberto Martinez for the Belgium national team.
However, the Frenchman couldn’t help The Monegasques recover from the loss of several of their key players such as Kylian Mbappe, Bernardo Silva, Fabinho and Tiemoue Bakayoko, which led to their downfall in the Ligue 1.
Having been in-charge of the club for just 17 games, Henry is now all set to face the sack from the club, suggest reports from the Metro. Monaco, who are currently languishing in the 19th place and just one point ahead of bottom-placed Guingamp, have had a nightmare of a season so far. No one would have expected that a team which won the league title a couple of seasons back and subsequently finished second last season would sink to such a low position in the table.
What makes Henry’s reign at the club even more disappointing is that they have not won a single game since he took over as the manager. The 41-year-old also brought in experienced players such as Cesc Fabregas and Naldo in order to improve the club’s position but it was an effort in vain.

The former Juventus and Barcelona star faced scrutiny especially after Monaco were thrashed 5-1 by Strasbourg last weekend at the Stade Louis II Stadium. If that wasn’t enough, the team slumped to another disappointing defeat at home to Metz in the French Cup, three days later.

Jardim’s sacking in October last year came as a surprise to many as after all he had famously led the club to their first title in 17 years and under him, Monaco were playing top quality of football.
With Monaco now battling to survive relegation, it is almost inevitable now that Henry will face the sack. While as a player he may have produced some moments of sheer brilliance, much to the Frenchman’s discontent, he has had a bitter managerial debut.
