The striker has already scored 12 goals in 15 appearances.
Reigning Ligue 1 champions, Paris Saint Germain(PSG), are all set to sign Mauro Icardi permanently from Inter Milan. But according to reports, the Parisiens are yet to receive a positive response from his wife Wanda Nara, who is also his agent.
The 26-year old forward joined PSG on a season-long loan from Serie A table-toppers, Inter Milan. The Paris-based outfit has an option to buy the Argentine international for a fee of around €70 million.
In his loan spell in Paris, Icardi has impressed everyone scoring 12 goals and provided two assists in 15 appearances for the club in all competitions.
Therefore his hard work has not gone unnoticed as the PSG hierarchy has decided to offer him a permanent deal to sign with Paris Saint Germain in the summer transfer window of 2020, once his loan spell is complete. They are working towards meeting the player’s transfer clause and it looks certain for Icardi.
However, if reports are to be believed, Icardi’s wife, Wanda Nara who apparently is also his agent has denied the talks and is yet to give the green signal.
The report from Calciomercato stated that Nara has not received an assurance from the Argentine International, who according to her, has not shown utmost willingness to stay in Paris and sign a permanent deal here with PSG.
The 26-year old striker can be the ideal replacement for Edison Cavani for the Parisiens. The Uruguayan is ageing and Thomas Tuchel is gradually looking to phase him out of the squad by signing Icardi. Also, there have been reports about Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Jr. leaving the club which has made the forwards very unsettled and considering Icardi’s qualities, he can also be a leader of the side.
However, Wanda Nara is hopeful that Icardi’s blazing form may attract interest from clubs like Juventus or Real Madrid and therefore she is reluctant to let Icardi sign the permanent deal with PSG.
In the hindsight, PSG sporting director, Leonardo believes that Mauro Icardi can be the perfect player for them and they are likely to push hard for the 26-year old forward.
Now it is up to Icardi and Nara to decide whether to stay in Paris permanently or wait for Real Madrid or Juventus to knock on their door.
