The Brazilian has been touted for a move back to the Nou Camp this summer.

After a wild transfer saga that dragged to and fro for a long time in 2017, Neymar finally agreed on moving to Paris Saint Germain and the Parisian club triggered his release clause from FC Barcelona. Two seasons later, that saga that was thought was done and dusted has emerged once again and is the buzz of the football world right now with Neymar trying desperately to take a detour back to Catalonia.

PSG’s new sporting director Leonardo who replaced Antero Henrique this summer however, confirmed in the post-match press conference following the 1-1 draw in the friendly against FC Nuremburg that there have been no further developments in the Neymar case. Things stand still at where they were last week when Leonardo first addressed the press about it.

"Honestly, there is nothing different from the last time we talked," he said, according to Le Parisien. "Nothing at all.

"It has not moved. There is no concrete offer for Neymar, he is with us. He is a player for Paris Saint-Germain. I repeat, there is no concrete offer. It's been the same situation for 10 days."

The relationship between Neymar and PSG turned really ugly after Neymar failed to report to training on July 8. He has also not appeared in any of PSG’s friendlies so far and has only trained individually with the club. He has also been left out of the club’s squad for the friendlies in Germany later this week.

Thomas Tuchel also refrained from making comments particular to this case and backed out of talking about it when asked.

"The situation between Neymar and me is clear; it's now something between him and the club," the PSG boss said. "He is part of the dressing room and will train with us tomorrow."

L’Equipe, Bild and Sky Sports reported extensively last week about Barcelona’s plan to bring Neymar back. The Catalan club had offered 40 million plus the services of Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele but it was dismissed on first sight by PSG. It is to be reported that after signing Frenkie de Jong and Antoine Griezmann in heavy money moves, Barca no longer have the financial muscle to bring Neymar back and are looking at using swap plus cash deals to make it happen.

They have made the services of Coutinho, Dembele, Samuel Umtiti, Nelson Semedo, Malcom and Ivan Rakitic available for the cause but it remains to be seen whether PSG budges from its position.

Leonardo had made it clear beforehand that Neymar will be allowed to leave only when the move is right for both parties as PSG looks to make profit on its original investment of 222 million on Neymar.

Neymar’s entourage however, still believes that Barcelona can entice PSG with the right offer and that the two clubs can come to an agreement before the window closes.
