Chhinga Veng and Mizoram Police register victory in LG Independence Cup
The two sides defeated Kanan FC and Chawnpui FC respectively.
After failing to score for 120 minutes against their opponents for tonight in the MFA Super Cup, Chhinga Veng FC made sure they did not slip up against Kanan FC with a 2-0 victory.
A first-half goal from Vanlalzuidika and a brilliant second-half strike from debutant Lalromawia was enough to seal all three points for CVFC in an even match up.
A team from the ADFA's First Division, Kanan FC held their own against the reigning MPL champions for the majority of the match but their valiant effort was ultimately undone by the difference in individual quality.
Kanan FC will face Mizoram Police FC in their next game on Wednesday afternoon while Chhinga Veng FC will clash with the same opposition on Friday evening.
On the other hand, Mizoram Premier League newcomers Chawnpui FC could not hold on to an early lead against Mizoram Police FC this afternoon as the Police team came out on top in a 2-1 victory.
A bright start from Chawnpui FC resulted in them finding the back of the net with their first clear-cut chance of the game. Vanlalnghenga scoring a sumptuous freekick in the 6th minute.
