The defending champions are currently unbeaten in the tournament.
Defending Mizoram Premier League champions Chhinga Veng FC sealed a 2-0 victory against Mizoram Police FC on Friday to ensure their unbeaten run in all competitions this season continues.
Two late goals from MS Dawngliana sealed all three points for Chhinga Veng FC as they got back into winning ways after being held by Aizawl FC in the previous round.
Chhinga Veng FC edged out their opponents in a back and forth first half as they enjoyed the better chances. MS Dawngliana finished wide after being put through while Lalrammawia and Lalromawia proved to be a handful for the Police defence.
Mizoram Police FC threatened the champions through seasoned campaigners Lalbiakhlua and F. Lalrinpuia in an open attacking affair.
The second period saw more of the same from both teams as they searched for what could well be the winning goal in an even match up.
Chhinga Veng FC broke the deadlock late on with MS Dawngliana finishing off a ball from Sawmzela. One goal seemed enough with five minutes to go but there was still time for a second when Dawngtea scored again after goalkeeper Zothanmawia'n long ball was not properly dealt with by the Police defence
