Chhinga Veng finish top, fortunate Chanmari edge Ramhlun North in MPL

Here's part 1 of all the action from Round 13.

Ramhlun North FC were made to settle for a point after a bright performance against Chanmari FC in the first fixture of the penultimate round of MPL6.

A mistake from goalkeeper Sangpuia saw a tame long range effort from Rochhingpuia earn a point for the current Mizoram Premier League champions.

Ramhlun North FC were on top of their opponents for the majority of the match but were unable to break the deadlock.

Lalliangsanga and Lalramzauva were both guilty of missing good opportunities in the first 45 minutes.

They find themselves two goal up within a span of three minutes with strikes from V. Lalchhuanawma and Liberian midfielder John Kweku Ampong.

Chanmari FC pulled one back just two minutes later as Vanlalbiaa finished off a brilliant counter-attacking move.

It looked like Ramhlun North FC were on their way to a much valuable 3 points until Rochhingpuia provided a late twist in stoppage time. His effort from outside the box flew into the net after Sangpuia seemed to misjudge the ball as it bounced just in front of him.

High flying Chhinga Veng FC ensured they go into the semi-finals as league leaders after a 1-0 victory against Bethlehem Vengthlang FC

They gathered 30 points from 13 matches with a game to go,  they cannot be bettered by any team.  This result also send Chanmari FC who are in third position with 19 points to the semi finals. 

 A brilliant strike from Lalrammuanpuia was enough to ensure all three points for Chhinga Veng FC who now have recorded 9 victories in 13 league games.

Chhinga Veng FC were on top from early on but they could not find the net in the first 40 minutes. Lalrammuanpuia and Dawngtea threatened early on but count not muster up substantial efforts.

Bethlehem Vengthlang FC had a chance through K. Lalnunzama but he could not make the most of his opportunity.

Lalrammuanpuia struck in the 42nd minute after he picked up a loose ball outside the box and netted a brilliant effort from long range.

Bethlehem Vengthlang FC shook things up in the second half and were threatening to equalise. Lalrammawia had the best chance for BVT FC as his effort went narrowly wide.

Laldingngheta struck the bar late on for Chhinga Veng FC who were able to hold on to their lead till the final whistle.
