But, with the title all but decided the game is of mere academic interest….
Mohun Bagan host Tollygunge Agragami in a replay of the Calcutta Football League match that was unceremoniously abandoned a few weeks ago. The game will take place at Mohun Bagan Ground. The Mariners will be without the services of their key players in the likes of in-form Prabir Das, Raju Gaikwad and Sanjay Balmuchu who are with their respective ISL franchises. As always Bagan will bank on the duo of Daniel Bidemi and Darryl Duffy upfront. WIth Bidemi opening the scoring in the last two matches he offers great support to Duffy and clearly has the confidence of Head Coach Shankarlal Chakraborty. With a new backline, Chakraborty gave more stress on organising the defense in the last couple of training sessions keeping in mind Tollygunge's experienced trio of Joel Sunday, Alfred Jaryan and Vashum in attack. In the pre-match press conference, Shankarlal said, "We have to be careful against Tollygunge as they are good side. In the abandoned match, they drew the equaliser and were good throughout the match. I have asked my boys to be careful and try to convert on whatever chances we get. We have nothing to lose now." On the other hand, Tollygunge who are on 8 points from 5 games are still in the relegation zone and are desperate for three points from tomorrow's match. Coach Ranjan Chaudhuri may change his formation a bit for tomorrow's game starting with a 4-3-3 with Alfred and Joel starting and Kareem sitting on the sidelines. Ahead of the game he said, "We want to win to stay in the hunt as a loss will push us back to the relegation fight and the same way I have asked my boys to give their best and not to indulge any pressure on them. If we cannot win a draw will do for us but we do not want to lose." Probable Mohun Bagan XI: Arnab Dassarma (GK), Tonmoy Ghosh, Bikramjit SIngh, Chinta Chandrasekhar, Ashim Dey, Saran Singh, Pankaj Moula, Azhar, Tapan Maity, Daniel Bidemi, Darryl Duffy.Preview by Khel Now Correspondent Rony.
