The new Chelsea boss has given an update on the future of the Belgian winger.

Following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid have been keen on signing Eden Hazard to don the coveted #7 jersey at Santiago Bernabeu. But, in the recent turn of events, the new gaffer at Stamford Bridge is confident of the stay of Hazard in London this season.

Talks have cooled down a bit as Madrid are focused on getting Thibaut Courtois, Chelsea’s goalkeeper, through the doors. The Madrid-based club have an upper hand against the Blues as they will be able to buy Hazard until the end of August, but Chelsea won't be able to buy his replacement post 9th of August.

This means Hazard and Real Madrid are in a better position than Chelsea themselves. However, according to The Express, Sarri is confident of keeping hold of him.

“We have spoken two or three times in the last two days,” Sarri said. “Hazard's problem is not present now.”

Hazard came on in the 68th minute as Chelsea drew 0-0 with Lyon in the International Champions Cup last night, before the Blues won 5-4 on penalties.

Cesc Fabregas was an unused substitute at Stamford Bridge, but the Spaniard has pleaded with Hazard to stay.

“I won’t lie, I speak to him often,” Fabregas said recently.

“He is the best player at the club and we need Chelsea to keep the best players. He knows the fans love him and a player we love to play with. For sure, we want him to stay.”

Chelsea are reportedly lining up a move for Nabil Fekir with the attacking midfielder also having been linked to Liverpool.

The 24-year-old underwent a medical with the Reds and was even snapped wearing their shirt in an interview with their in-house television channel in June.

Liverpool reportedly remain locked in negotiations with the Lyon star, but reports in Italy suggest Chelsea are in a pole position.
