The former Gunners' manager is optimistic the Reds will clinch the title this season by a margin.
In a latest, Arsene Wenger has claimed that Liverpool are en route to emulate Arsenal's 2002-03 Premier League heroics. The Frenchman, in an interview with beIN Sports, stated that the Reds are on course to go all the way unbeaten this season. "They were close last year and they are still on course to go unbeaten now." [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Liverpool, who are on a historic run of form, have lost just once in the Premier League in 2019. Moreover, a brilliant display at home means the Reds are unbeaten at Anfield in the last 50 games in the league. With 13 points clear off the second place, they might just be on their way to clinch a domestic title in over 30 years. It would also be their first ever since the Premier League era began. "I think what Liverpool is expecting at the moment is just to win the Premier League and that is the first target for such a football city," continued Arsene Wenger, "To stay for 30 years without winning the Premier League…nobody would have predicted that." "That is their main target and I think they are on a good run and on a good course to achieving that this season because their main opponent is quite far away already," he added. However, considering their recent history in the league during Christmas period, the Reds mustn't be complacent. Last season, Jurgen Klopp and Co had blown away a ten-point lead as Manchester City came back to successfully defend the title. The Gunners, under Arsene Wenger's tutelage, had historically won the Premier League without a single loss in the campaign. "My experience when you play the whole season unbeaten is that they accumulate the belief that if they just continue to play they will win the game," Arsene Wenger reiterated.Latest News
