The Reds are currently leading the Premier League table and are 15 points ahead of Manchester United

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp feels embarrassed by the hype created ahead of their match against Manchester United, especially to show how the reds are way ahead in all areas than their rivals.

The Reds have the golden opportunity on Sunday to match Manchester United's record of winning consecutive 18 Premier League matches. But the former Borussia Dortmund manager feels disgusted by the unnecessary hype created around the match especially proving the inferiority of the Red Devils.

While Danny Mills also came up with a combined lineup of the two rivals which had only Liverpool players. Liverpool are overwhelming favourites and Klopp feels that there is negativity created around Ole Solskjaer's men that they will start the game from the back foot, as the German tactician feels it is a strategy to motivate the hosts.

“People are trying to create it as a banana skin," said the 52-year old German to the Guardian.

“They are trying to make it as we are THE team and they are nobody. I saw the combined lineup and it’s really funny – 11 Liverpool players and no Man United players.

“That is the situation everyone creates: that we are so good and they have so many problems, they can not play football anymore and we are flying. All this stuff gets built up in a week when there have been no other games."

"That is what I mean about building a banana skin. It is like we just have to go there and don’t respect them on the level they deserve. We need to respect them to face the difficulties in the game and it will be there in the right way.”

Klopp has not won at Old Trafford in his tenure at Merseyside and the German tactician will be interested in sorting the record out. However, their win against United at Anfield ended the reign of Jose Mourinho at the club. That win was also their first and only win in the last 10 clashes between the two sides.

Motivation for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

So the former Mainz manager warns his players of not being complacent despite Manchester United's drab form. Klopp also feels that the Norwegian should turn the insults to his advantage.

“Yes, I would [find the buildup insulting]. I saw all these things and it looks like they want to help Man United. All these articles look like they have been written by Man United supporters," Klopp added.

“We’ll live with it. In the dressing room, that’s the one advantage they have at the moment. And playing at home. It’s like we have said: ‘Here’s the combined team’ but we had nothing to do with it. I expected things like that this week but I was still surprised when I had a little look at the newspapers that the difference [between the teams] was that massive. I’ve never seen a combined lineup like this but, in general, with the mood that these things create, yes I would use it.”
