Reports: Virgil van Dijk agrees new Liverpool deal
The Netherlands international has reportedly penned a bumper six-year extension with the Reds.
Virgil van Dijk has proved his mettle since joining Liverpool in 2018 for a then record fee of £75m from Southampton. Now, reports in the UK say the centre-back has agreed a new six-year deal with the Reds.
Under the new contract, the 28-year-old will be cashing in a whopping figure of nearly £200,000 every week. Reports suggest that the wheels of the deal were set in motion in the summer transfer window and the finer details among other things were finalized only last week.
It is also believed that Harry Maguire's transfer to Manchester United from Leicester City had set a precedent for this agreement. The Englishman joined the Red Devils in a contract which brings in north of £190,000 at the end of every week.

Liverpool already pay a fortune to Mohamed Salah and Van Dijk sees himself in the same league. It will also keep him at Anfield until 2025.
The original deal was very heavily reliant on bonuses earned through clean-sheets and was stocked with creamy clauses. However, the new contract is devoid of any additions.
