With the 'World At His Feet', PVR Live brings 'Cristiano Ronaldo' to India

On March 26, 2018, PVR India had announced their ‘alternate’ content exhibition vertical named PVR Live – a new season for showcasing alternative content. Who would’ve thought that football could become an integral part of this? Well, PVR did. In a segment that will see PVR Live feature sports documentaries for Indian audiences; it brings you the story of arguably the world’s most hardworking footballer.

In a new season, PVR Live is getting wider, better and football-ier. The journey that started in 2014 with exhibitions, concert films, broadways, musicals, ballets and more is adding another feather to its long repertoire. Like a connoisseur, PVR Live presents ‘Cristiano Ronaldo: The World at His Feet’ with Khel Now as its football partners.

The Sports movie-documentary is directed by Tara Pirnia and was written by Nick Silverman. Pirnia has directed several documentaries, ranging from ‘Titanic: 100 years on’ to covering the ‘One Direction: The Only Way is Up’. Pirnia also directed ‘Amy Winehouse: Never Forgotten’, a documentary that moved one and all.

The docudrama is finally coming on the big screen in India, having released via Vimeo earlier in 2014. The showreel captures the Portuguese sniper’s journey from São Pedro, Funchal, in Portugal to the highs at Manchester United and then to the super-stardom he reached at Real Madrid. It also shows the other side of the man who is widely regarded as one of the best players to have graced the pitch.

93% Google users like this film, and 76% users voted for it on Rotten Tomatoes, widely regarded as a benchmark of movie reviewing. In select PVR cinema halls near you, ‘Cristiano Ronaldo: The World at His Feet’ comes to you on September 22-23. Adding to the whole feeling, the documentary is set to be narrated by ‘Sherlock’ actor Benedict Cumberbatch, adding a different audience-oriented cathartic experience.
