Atletico de Kolkata fans can now cheer as the dark clouds hovering over the organizing of Indian Super League matches at the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium have passed away. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) announced its verdict in which the 5-members committee has stated that it is satisfied with the conditions and gave the nod for ATK to host their home games at the venue for ISL 3. A Few weeks back a case was filed by environmentalist Subhas Dutta for the protection of the environment around the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium as the floodlights may harm the safety of the eco-system. This led the NGT to form a five-member committee to inspect the conditions at the new home of the champions of the inaugural edition of the ISL. The five member committee led by A.K Sanyal submitted their report to the court and the verdict from the tribunal will certainly help the Kolkata franchise and its fans to heave a sigh of relief. ATK will open their campaign at home against Chennaiyin FC. Meanwhile, Spanish defender Pablo Gallardo has been ruled out for the whole edition of ISL 3 with a broken ligament which he suffered during the last practice tie on Sunday against Dipendu Biswas XI. While clearing a long ball, he clashed with custodian Debjit Majumdar of ATK and fell down in a harsh manner. He will be returning back to Spain for medical treatment and will be out for almost 4-5 weeks. The ATK management is yet to name a replacement.Report by Khel Now Correspondent Rony.
