Player Ratings: Sridarth, Maheson seal SAFF glory for rampant India U-15s against Nepal

The hosts hit seven goals for the second time in the tournament.

India trounced Nepal 7-0 in the final of SAFF U-15 Championship. Goals from Mahison, Taison Himangshu and a second half hat-trick from Sidhartha sealed the deal for the Blue Colts. Bibiano Fernandes' men notched up 28 goals in the tournament and conceded none.

Here the player ratings from the match:

India

Aman Kumar- 7.0

Aman was not too bothered in the first half, but he had to deal with a couple of shots from the Nepali strikers. Overall, he was calm and composed during the whole game.

Pritam Meitei- 7.5

Pritam hardly had to contribute defensively, but did well going forward in tandem with Taison. Provided good crosses in attack.

Paogoumang Singson- 7.5

He was calm and composed for the whole game. Although, they didn’t have anything to do defensively, he and Anish made sure there were no casualties.

Anish Mazumder- 7.0

Anish had a good game and led the defence well. He efficiently dealt with the long balls and made sure there were no defensive errors.

Amandeep- 7.5

Amandeep too didn’t have to contribute defensively, but was good going forward working in tandem with Shubo Paul. He found himself on the scoresheet through a pinpoint crosfrom Taison.

Sibajit Singh- 6.5

Sibajit provided defensive stability to the team. He was alert enough to track back when Nepal had the ball. However, he was replaced by Himanshu Jangra at half-time.

Maheson Singh- 8.0

The midfielder once again impressed with his skils on the ball

Maheson was excellent in the midfield, creating spaces between Nepal's defence, He scored an absolute world-class effort into the top corner for the team’s first goal.

Shubho Paul- 7.0

Paul was often seen racing forward with the ball, but failed to register his name on the scoresheet in spite of finding himself in good positions.

Taison Singh- 8.0

Taison combined well with full-back Pritam, often interchanging positions. He provided a pinpoint cross from a free-kick for Amandeep’s goal.

Sridharth Nongmeikapam- 9.0

Sridharth was the man of the final, scoring a second half hat-trick for the hosts to win the title. Initially, in the first 45, he found it hard to find the back of the net, but after the interval he stepped up well.

Yoihenbai Meitei- 6.0

Meitei was the only Indian player who looked off colour today. He failed to convert two chances in the game and gave away possession in the box many times.

Substitutions

Himanshu Jangra- 8.0

The hat-trick hero from the previous game came on in the second half and made his presence felt by scoring a goal. He netted seven times in the tournament

Ratanbi Singh- 6.0

Ratanbi replaced Taison in 72nd minute, but didn’t have a major impact on the game. He made a few runs through the right, but was of no use

Issac Zomuanpuia- N/A

Substituted on in injury-time

Nepal

Manoj Dahal- 2.0

The Nepali goalkeeper had an awful game, as the opposition went on to score seven past him. He might’ve done better by saving a couple of goals.

Abhishek Waiba- 2.0

The full-back too had a disaster of an outing. He was poor defensively and went on to score an own-goal later in the second half.

Ajay Chaudhary- 3.0

Ajay failed to cope wuth the continuous pressure from Sridharth and Co. and was poor on the day.

Jan Limbu- 2.0

Limbu too had a match to forget, as he was caught out of position many times and the Indian forwards utilized the space really well.

Roshan Thapa- 2.0

Thapa was poor with his defensive colleagues throughout the game and failed to contribute going forward as well.

Pradip Lamsal- 3.0

The Nepal captain was clueless in the middle of the park and was often overrun by the opposition midfielders.

Jay Dhame- 4.5

Jay had a better outing than most of his teammates. He tried to find spaces in the Indian defence, but the opposition defenders stood tall.

Niranjan Khatri- 2.5

Niranjan too was poor in midfield. He didn’t show any intent to make an impact and was substituted in the 57th minute.

Ashim Rai- 4.0

Ashim did make a few runs from the left-hand side and gave a wake-up call to the Indian back four. He managed to get a shot on goal, but the hosts' shot-stopper dealt with it perfectly.

Krish Sapkota- 5.0

Krish was the lone bright spark in today’s encounter for Nepal. He troubled the goalkeeper twice in the game, but failed to register a goal against his name.

Anil Chaulagai- 3.0

Nepal replaced Anil with Niranjan in the hope of making an impact in the game, but it didn’t materialize.
