The junior Gorkhalis failed to find their feet in the game and were on the end of a hiding.
Nepal suffered a crushing 0-5 defeat against hosts India in the SAFF U-15 Championship at the Kalyani Stadium on Wednesday.
Head coach Sunil Shrestha was disappointed with his team's performance, but feels his boys will turn it around against Bangladesh in the next match. "We failed to execute our plans in the game. I feel in our next match against Bangladesh we will be back stronger."
Shrestha was quizzed about his decision to change his first-choice goalkeeper and the coach said, "It was not pre-planned, but it was an off day for our goalkeeper as every shot on target resulted in a goal. He is a good goalkeeper, but he failed to show up when it matters."
"Our team still has a lot of loose ends, as they failed to keep the shape which I explained. Also, we conceded a cheap goal early in the first half, which made the whole team nervous and from there, nothing went right for us" he added on his team's performance.
He also praised the India U-15 side, but was not satisfied with the sultry conditions and feels that it affected their game, as their players failed to adapt to the heat in Kalyani.

He added, "We are not a team to concede five goals. The early first goal was the turning point in the game, as it brought down the morale of the players. Our best player #14 (Niranjan Malla) failed to play his natural game right from the start of the match. Our players found their feet only in the last 10-15 minutes."
Shrestha assured that he will make changes to the team, as his side will look to fight back to stay in the competition against Bangladesh in their next match.
