Despite his age, the veteran Swedish striker is linked with a move to top European clubs.

In a first, it appears that AC Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis had approved on a move for Zlatan Ibrahimovic last January. The Swedish star, however, preferred to stay at his current club in the MLS, LA Galaxy.

Quite interestingly, even at the age of 38, Ibrahimovic has left several top clubs pondering over his signature. As sensational as it sounds, the veteran striker has registered 30 goals in 29 games in the MLS in 2019. Adding to that, he has also delivered seven assists in total, proving his world-class quality.

No wonder Milan are interested in re-signing the striker who has already spent a couple of seasons with them. Moreover, Napoli and Bologna, with the latter in particular, have also been linked with the Ibrahimovic of late.

Coincidentally, Bologna president Joey Saputo and head coach Sinisa Mihajlovic have both previously worked with the striker. This naturally increases the possibility of Zlatan Ibrahimovic signing for the club also taking into consideration his friendship with the latter.

Furthermore, according to Calciomercato,  Saputo is interested to prepare a year-and-a-half deal with Ibrahimovic, much to the disappointment of Ivan Gazidis. Saputo, who also own MLS outfit Montreal Impact, is believed to be the crucial player in the deal with Ibrahimovic.

Ibrahimovic on the other hand, who has already had a taste of the Serie A with Juventus and both the Milan clubs, can be a great addition to Bologna. In his 219 appearances in the league, the talismanic striker scored a massive 122 goals and delivered 46 assists overall.

It is quite interesting how Saputo will manage to meet Zlatan's wage demands which, according to reports, are €8 million for an 18-month contract. The future of the player is still not decided yet bit it will be fascinating to watch him lead Bologna in the Serie A.
