Seven Zakir Husain college players selected to play in Delhi University football team
ZHC continue their tradition of being one of the bastions of Delhi college football...
After five days of long, gruesome trials seven players from Zakir Husian College got selected in Delhi University football team for Inter-University tournament taking place in Punjab starting from 17 January, y2017. The seven players who got selected are Shailesh Maurya, Sikander Ali Khan, Mukul Mahinder, Deepak Taxak, Uma Shanker, Ashutosh Thapliyal, and Pranjal Shakerdas. Deepak Taxak will be leading the team as the captain and will be representing the Delhi team for a third consecutive year. Whereas Mukul and Ashutosh will be making 2nd consecutive appearance in the team. The talented trio of Shailesh, Sikander and Uma Shanker impressed the selection committee with their amazing talent and break through into the first team. This is a proud moment for the college and coach Rajat Guha as well. Every year at least 5-6 players form the college team represent the Delhi University team and this year is no different. This shows the hard work of the coaches and college that goes in nurturing such talented players.
Guha believes that it is a very proud moment for him and a very big opportunity for the players to show their talent and gain this important exposure.
