The Mumbai manager wants his team to bounce back from the defeat against Pune when they meet Goa…

The Mumbai City coach Alexandre Guimaraes will be looking to go on top the table with a win when they face FC Goa in the Indian Super league match at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Goa tonight. Though Mumbai are the favourites for tonight’s match, the gaffer Guimaraes denied the same and is in the favour of equal competition from the opponents. “There are no favorites in the tournament. Any team can beat any team. Of course, we are in a better position than them(FC Goa). But they did a fantastic job in the last game, winning it. Which they will continue to try the same and it going to be real tough for us tomorrow.” said the Costa Rican coach. When asked about his preparation for the match, Guimaraes said “Every game for us is a real headache. Before traveling to here I had every option but now the situation is different, maybe because of the traveling often. So I cannot say who is ready for tomorrow’s match.” A draw against the Guars will see them move up to 2nd place in the league table with 16 points from 11 matches but Guimaraes wants to grab all three points and go top of the table. "We want to recover the points which we lost in the last match. We also want to be in the top four, so I always think of three points,” said the Mumbai head coach. Even though Mumbai are performing well in the ISL this season, the head coach Guimaraes is worried about the last loss against the neighbouring city club FC Pune City and expressed his thoughts saying, “We are still in a good position but the defeat is a reminder for us that it will not be so easy to get into the semi-finals and that we will have to play well and fight very hard to get the points to get us there and I am pretty sure the players know the situation and try harder in the next game.” A win in Goa will make them strong contenders for the playoffs and a first knockout appearance in ISL history. However, a draw here will also be enough for them to be in the race for the final four. Photo © ISL Media
