The Brazilian knows his team must win every match…

FC Goa head coach Zico will be looking to make it two wins out of two when they face Mumbai City FC as they have already won against the metro city outfit in the last meeting. It is another do-or-die match in the Indian Super League at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Goa tonight. The match against Mumbai is a most a must win match but coach Zico is aware of the situation and very confident ahead of the match. “All the matches we have in the future are all must win matches for us because of the situation we have now. All the players are aware of it and we are going to take it in the same manner,” said the Brazilian coach. Though the Goan team is in the last position at present in the league table, Zico believes that every team has an equal chance of qualifying and said, “The tournament is in the last stage and it will be difficult for all the teams, even for those who are in a better position.” The Guars are set to play three home matches in a row. But when asked about the advantage of the same, the Brazilian tactician thinks that it is a plus point for the home team as it will reduce the traveling time and it will also help players to get fit on time. . But he is also aware of the situation of the team as they must-win every match and said “Our situation is totally different, it is much more like the first season , where we had to win every match.” The last match between FC Goa and NorthEast United FC witnessed history in the ISL, when the head coach Zico fielded 9 Indian players in the starting XI, and it is likely that he will be repeating the same in the upcoming match against Mumbai. “I am going to do the same thing. Like I always said I always prefer to play those who are 100% fit for the match. We have many foreigners who are injured and we cannot take a risk on them,” said the former Japan national team coach. “For me, there is no difference between foreigner players and Indian players. They(Domestic players) are always there for me, doing their job and giving hundred percent,” He further added. When asked about the chances of FC Goa making the playoffs he said, “We are dependent on our own results when you are dependent on other’s results it is quite difficult to say.” Victory in tonight’s match will ease some pressure off coach Zico’s shoulders as they will move to 6th in the league table, but a defeat will surely make a dent in their already slim hopes of qualifying for last four.
