The Italian said he was excited to take on his compatriot and former teammate Marco Materazzi...

Delhi Dynamos FC head coach Gianluca Zambrotta is on cloud nine following back-to-back wins in their previous Hero ISL 2016 matches but has urged his players not to stop till they achieve their target of qualifying for the semis. The Lions presently lie in second with 13 matches from eight games, and speaking to the media ahead of their game against defending champions Chennaiyin FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Wednesday, Zambrotta said: “We must remember that our target is to reach the semis as soon as we can, and about the last two matches that we won… I am very happy as the team is getting better, and tomorrow will be a strong match against a very good team.” In their first meeting this season, Delhi Dynamos FC ran away to a 3-1 win against the Super Machans with Marcelinho scoring a brace. Both Zambrotta and Chennaiyin head coach Marco Materazzi featured in Italy’s World Cup-winning team in 2006. When asked if his familiarity with Materazzi and his style of play might help his team on Wednesday, Zambrotta said: “It is a very nice experience to play against him and the first game was also great and now we have to think about tomorrow. It will be a match between two champion, Marco Materrazi from their side and Gianluca Zambrotta from our side, and I think it will be a challenge tomorrow. It will be a good match as both teams are different. Good luck to the teams.” Discussing the 2-0 wins against FC Goa and Kerala Blasters FC in their last two matches and the fitness status of his team, the 39-year-old Italian said: “Winning the last two matches… I am happy and I am also happy with the way we won and that we created a lot of chances to score. And regarding fitness, I am glad to say all the players are 100% available.” Zambrotta also shared his thoughts on training in Delhi, which has recently seen pollution levels go through the roof. “Of course, these are not the best conditions to train and we need to train. We have spoken to the medical team regarding if we can train and they say we can train and we trust them. Yes, I know these are not the best conditions but we have got to make the most of it,” Zambrotta said. [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]Report and Photo © ISL Media
