The Spaniard was not happy with the result but was satisfied with his team's performance.

Even before the post-match press conference questions began, Pune's charismatically funny coach, started with, "Life is wonderful. Life is fantastic." His side drew 1-1 against visitors Chennaiyin FC. The game was a well contested one, with both teams having good periods during the game. Overall, though, Pune created more chances throughout the match. Speaking on the game, the coach, who was sitting in for his first post-match press conference of the season said, "I'm not happy with the result. But I am happy with the performance of the team. The attitude, the behaviour, and many more things." Pune so far, have been unable to score a lot of goals, scoring only four in their five games. He commented, "Chennai is a big team, they're the champions of last season. (For) Pune, no semi-finals in two seasons. But today I feel we were the better team. They have a good team, but today Pune was better." The Stallions' only shots on target today we're through set-pieces. Addressing the issue, the Spaniard stated, "We are working on that. The only thing we were not training was the goal (set pieces). But we are working on it." He continued on the topic of the goal the home team conceded, "We made one mistake in the 90 minutes and gave the goal to Chennai but no chances for Chennai, I don't remember a chance. But, it is possible they committed a foul on Ferreira for the goal, maybe." The former Atletico De Kolkata coach was asked to respond to Marco Materazzi's post game comments (We know Lucca likes to dive a lot -Marco Materazzi). He replied, "We were much better than Chennai today. I don't know about other days, but today, (we were) much, much better."
