Zakir Husain Delhi College set to travel to Mumbai for All-India Finals of Reliance Foundation Youth Sports Championship
ZHC will compete with seven other teams to claim the top prize...
Eight college teams will fight to be crowned national champions in the inaugral Reliance Foundation Youth Sports Championship in Mumbai. Teams from Goa, Guwahati, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Kochi, Pune and Mumbai will battle in the national championship which will be held in Mumbai from 30 December - 7 January at Cooperage Football Stadium.
The 8 teams are:-
Zakir Husain Delhi College- Delhi
Arya Vidyapeeth college- Guwahati
Rosary College Of Commerce & Arts- Goa
Nirmala collge- Kochi
Charuchandra College-Kolkata
Jeppiaar Engineering College-Chennai
Indira College of Commerce and Science-Pune
Thakur College of Science & Commerce- Mumbai
From Delhi, Zakir Husain College will try to bring the title to the capital. They will again try to repeat their impressive form which they showed in the Delhi regional round and came out on top to became the champions among 60 college teams that took part in the tournament. They are in a good shape and have been practising on a regular basis for the Finals.The team will be missing the services of highly talented Yogesh Kumar and Aditya Singh Rawat as they will be representing Delhi in the Santosh Trophy.
Yogesh Kumar and Aditya Singh Rawat will be representing Delhi in the Santosh Trophy and wont be travelling with the team to Mumbai.
The coach Rajat Guha believes that the team has a strong bench and will make up on the missing players.
Eight teams are divided into two groups. Two top teams from each group will head into the semi-finals. The team is scheduled to play its first match againt Charuchandra College, Kolkata on 30 December.

The team is set to fly out to Mumbai tomorrow morning and will be hoping to fly the capital's flag high.
