Confidence after this win
Lakshya Sen was lethal with his smash and he controlled the game throughout. He was looking very settled. He said after the match “Court Condition was very good today. I started from where last year left. Tomorrow is a rest day so hoping to continue this momentum. I love to play in this type of condition. I was settled from the beginning of the match and got my length. In Malaysia Open when I could not find my length in the second set. That time I could not control the shuttle. But today from the beginning I had control and my smashes were equally as well. I got a good start and I did not allow to settle him. In the second game, I played one or two points a little loose but made a comeback.”

Rivalry with HS Prannoy
Lakshya Sen and Prannoy had played each other many times and there is a good rivalry between them. Sen said about this “It’s always a good match against all the players. But we played a lot of times and we know each other game very well. So it is a little bit different compared to other matches but we played against each other a lot so we know what to expect. On that given day, we have to get used to the condition better.”
