The Open Era tournaments began in 1968 which allowed professional tennis players to compete with amateurs. The Open tournament was the 1968 British Hard Court Championships followed by the French Open. In this article let us discuss the five players with the most career wins in men’s singles in Open Era.

5. Ivan Lendl – 1068

Ivan Lendl from the USA holds the joint fourth spot in the list of career wins. Along with 1068 career wins, Lendl also holds the record for winning 94 ATP titles (third most in the Open Era). He is commonly referred to as the “Father of Modern Tennis” and “The Father Of The Inside-Out Forehand”. The win-loss record of Ivan Lendl stands at 1068-242 (81.5 percent) and has won ten grand slam titles.

4. Rafael Nadal – 1070

Rafael Nadal entered the fourth spot in the career wins list after winning the opening encounter against an emerging youngster from Great Britain Draper. The Spaniard’s win-loss record stands at 1068-219 (83 percent). Rafael Nadal is known as the king of clay having won 14 French Open titles. Along with 1068 career wins, Rafael Nadal also holds the record for winning 92 ATP titles (fourth most in the Open Era).

3. Novak Djokovic – 1099

Novak Djokovic occupies the fifth spot in the most career wins in the Open Era. The Serbian win-loss record stands at 1036-206 (83.4 percent). The 35-year-old turned pro in 2003 and won his first grand slam title in 2008 (Australian Open). Novak Djokovic holds the record for winning the highest number of Australian Open titles (nine). Along with 1036 career wins, the Serbian also holds the record for winning 92 ATP titles (fourth most in the Open Era)

2. Roger Federer – 1251

The Swiss legend retired in 2022 after having won a record 1251 matches after having played for over two decades. The win-loss record of Roger Federer stands at 1251-275 (82 percent) and has a record 19 grand slam titles. Of the 19 titles, Roger has won eight Wimbledon Championships the most in singles to date. The Swiss Rafael also holds the record for winning 103 ATP titles (second most in the Open Era). Federer wasn’t actively playing since the 2019 season frequently suffering from injuries and played his last match at the Laver Cup 2022 playing alongside Nadal and Djokovic.

1. Jimmy Connors – 1274

Jimmy Connors holds the record for winning the most career titles (109), matches played (1557), and career wins (1275). The legendary player has won eight grand slam titles (singles) overall with a career win-loss record of 1275-283 (81.8 percent). Apart from winning eight singles titles, Jimmy has also won two doubles titles in Grand Slam (1973 Wimbledon and 195 US Open).
