Maharashtra put 23 past Gujarat in Junior Women National Championship

Day two at the 11th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2021 saw some action-packed matches here on Thursday.
In the opening match of the day, Hockey Maharashtra registered a big 23-0 win against Hockey Gujarat in their Pool E match. Ashwini Kolekar (1', 4', 14', 42', 53'), Shivani Sitaram Sahu (10', 11', 35', 36', 41') and Kajal Sadashiv Atpadkar (17', 21', 22', 28', 54') scored five goals each in this feat while Utkarsha Nana Kale (8', 21', 28', 51'), Himanshi Gawande (19', 20'), Manashri Narendra Shedage (37', 57') scored to ensure their team began their campaign with a win at the Junior Women National Championship.
In a Pool G match of the Junior Women National Championship, Odisha beat Hockey Himachal 12-0. Goals were scored by Neha Lakra (5', 28'), Nitu Lakra (10'), Aten Topno (13'), Sandhya Kujur (14', 45'), Anjela Toppo (24'), Jyotsna Rohidas (39'), Jyoti Chhatri (41'), Kamla Singh (42', 53') and Neha Toppo (60').
In another match in Pool G, Chhattisgarh Hockey got the better of Hockey Madhya Pradesh 4-1 in a hard-fought match. The first two quarters were evenly fought with both teams going into half time in a stalemate. But Chhattisgarh Hockey came up with a good attack to convert the first goal in the 33rd minute through Kusum Kumari Mahto (33') but Hockey Madhya Pradesh equalised within the next two minutes through Shaheen Khan (35'). However, in the 45th minute Chhattisgarh Hockey took a 2-1 lead with Aanchal Sahu's goal while they did well to defend the score, Anisha Sahu's 55th minute goal and Leena Kosare's 57th minute goal ensured they bagged the three points at the Junior Women National Championship.
In a Pool F match at the Junior Women National Championship, Hockey Chandigarh beat Goans Hockey 10-1. It was Dhapa Devi (6', 11', 21', 45', 50', 58') who starred in the match for Hockey Chandigarh with six sensational goals. Priyanka (9'), Rajani (29'), Khushdeep Kaur (49'), Parneet Kaur (54') scored a goal each in the team's success. For Goans Hockey, Geuel D'Souza scored the lone goal.
In another Pool F match, Hockey Bihar defeated Hockey Jammu & Kashmir 8-2. Ritika Soren (8', 21', 23') and Pooja Kumari (29', 31', 51') scored a hat-trick each while Kashish Kumari (10') and Mahima Kumari (49') scored a goal each in the team's win. Gunjan Preet Kour (13', 42'), on the other hand, scored a double for Hockey Jammu & Kashmir at the Junior Women National Championship.
