The Indian wrestlers have collected 11 medals at the tournament so far.
The ongoing 2021 Junior World Wrestling Championships had plenty of action to offer to the Indians on Friday. Sanju Devi in the 62 kg category and Bhateri in the 65kg category played their gold medal bouts in the day. Another Indian female wrestler in Saneh participated in the bronze medal bout in the 72kg category.
Indian female wrestlers managed to win three medals on Thursday and had the chance to add more to the tally. Simran, Sito and Bipasha bagged two bronzes and a silver. However, the gold medal bouts did not go the way of the Indian wrestlers at the Junior World Wrestling Championship on Friday.

Both Sanju Devi and Bhateri conceded their bouts and settled for a silver medal each. Saneh on the other hand, had to forfeit her bout after suffering a major knee dislocation. Therefore, she missed out on adding a third medal for India on the day.
Sanju Devi
The Indian grappler reached the finals of the 62kg category with immense determination. She defeated Luisa Scheel of Germany, Iva Geric of Croatia and Birgul Soltanova of Azerbaijan on her way to the final. Sanju Devi faced Russia’s Kasabieva in the final, where the Russian grappler defeated her by technical superiority.
Bhateri
She was a potential gold medal hope for India before the day began. However, Bhateri was unable to capitalise as well and lost her final bout. The Indian wrestler defeated Tunisia’s Jlassi K and Amina Capezan of Romania on her way to the final.
Bhateri was up against Ringaci of Macedonia in the final bout. Her opponent got the better of the Indian and secured a victory on technical superiority. The manner of defeat in the final would be a matter of concern for the youngster.

Saneh
Saneh was very unfortunate in her bronze medal bout against Russia’s Guseinova. The game stopped with four minutes 13 seconds to go. This was because a move from her opponent bent her knee backward and led to complete dislocation.
Saneh, writhing in agony and pain, sadly could not continue the bout and will sit on the sidelines in the immediate future. She was trailing by three points before the stoppage.
