Here’s why Bhavani Devi lied about her father’s income to get into fencing

India still has a chance to win several medals in the upcoming days. Let’s take a look at India’s realistic chances of winning a medal at the Tokyo Olympics, after the conclusion of the fourth day’s action.

Who are India’s realistic hopes for a Tokyo Olympics medal after Day 4?

SUMMARY OF THE DAY: It has been a day in which the Indian contingent have shown fighting spirit, but not much to show for their efforts. The day has seen valiant efforts from Bhavani Devi, Sajan Prakash and the Indian women's national hockey team. However, the archers and shooters continue to disappoint. In table tennis, Sharath Kamal reached a historic third round, with Manika Batra's memorable campaign coming to an end. There were defeats in badminton and boxing as well, with the latter one proving to be a bit controversial in nature. However, the Indian contingent still has several opportunities to increase their medal tally as many medal hopefuls will be in action in the coming days.

7:14 PM Hockey: Goals from Nike Lorenz and Anne Schroder gives Germany all three points. However, it was a valiant effort from the Indian girls. If Gurjit Kaur would have scored from the penalty stroke, things might well have been different. Germany had more of the possession but India showed more attacking intent in the second half. However, the Indian team need to move on from this defeat and focus on their next match. A pivotal clash against reigning Olympic champions Great Britain will be their next assignment.
