It will run until September 11, and like always, the tournament will be played at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre at Flushing Meadows in New York, United States. Both the defending champions, Daniil Medvedev and Emma Raducanu, will have tough competition this time to retain their titles.

She has won the US Open title six times in her career, alongside the Wimbledon and Australian Open titles seven times each. She also won the French Open thrice in her career.

Novak Djokovic to miss the edition

Legendary tennis star Novak Djokovic will not be able to take part in this year’s US Open because of his decision to not be vaccinated. He himself announced that he would miss the tournament.

Top seed players

Daniil Medvedev is the No.1 seed in the men’s singles department, while Iga Swiatek is the No.1 seed in the women’s singles category. Both these players will look to maintain their form.

In women’s singles, Iga Swiatek has a better chance this time to lift the title, while last year’s champion Emma Raducanu will be under pressure to retain her title, though she has been brilliant in the past 12 months.
