7:45 PM That brings to an end the action from day 4 of the World Athletics U-20 Championships. Rohan Kamble and the men's relay team were major disappointments. Baljeet Kaur faded away after a bright start in the women's 10000m race walk final. On the other hand, Priya Mohan narrowly missed out on a medal, after finishing in 4th place in the women's 400m final.

However, the day belongs to Amit Khatri. The young Indian race walker lived up to his reputation by clinching a silver medal in the men's 10000m race walk final. It was India's first medal in race walking in a major international competition. The medal also means the nation has now won multiple medals in the same edition of the World Athletics U-20 Championships for the first time ever.

7:36 PM Women's 400m Final: Nigeria's Imaobong Nse Uko wins the gold medal. The silver medal goes to Kornelia Lesiewicz of Poland. Home athlete Sylvia Chelangat of Kenya takes the bronze medal.

11:30 AM One of India’s biggest medal prospects at the World Athletics U-20 Championships, race walker Amit Khatri will be in action today. The youngster from Haryana broke the national record earlier in 2021 in the Federation Cup. He clocked a timing of 40:40.97 and broke the previous record, which was set in 2018. Amit will now look to shine on the global stage. Another race walker Baljeet Kaur will be the only Indian representative in the women’s 10000m (10km) race walk. She has clocked a timing of 48:19.88 at the Indian U-20 Championships in the Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati.

After winning the bronze medal in the mixed team 4x400m relay, the Indian contingent will be charged up to perform in the men’s and women’s 4x400m relays at the World Athletics U-20 Championships. Sprinters Priya Mohan, Summy, Payal Vohra, Deepanshi and Kunjha Rajitha will be in action in women’s 4x400m relay. On the other hand, Sumit Chahal, Narganjunan Selvaraj, Abdul Razak, Kapil and Bharat Sridhar will be in action for the men’s 4x400m relay.

Rohan Kamble has qualified for the 400m hurdles semi-final at the World Athletics U-20 Championships. He will look to carry that momentum into the semis and will aim to qualify for the finals. Another Indian medal hopeful Priya Mohan, who has aced the qualifying heats will be in action in the finals. She has already bagged a bronze medal as part of the mixed team 4x400m relay team at the World Athletics U-20 Championships.
