WTA Chennai Open 2022 Day 6: Updated Schedule, Results

The sixth day will witness Rutuja Bhosale and Karman Kaur Thandi in action.

It was a forgettable day for the Indians at the Chennai Open on Wednesday as the duo Riya Bhatia and Sharrmadaa Baluu were out in their Round of 16. They got defeated against Peangtarn Plipuech and Moyuka Uchijima 2-6. 5-7. Not only this pair but Indian star Ankita Raina and her partner Rosalie Van Der Hoek also lost their battle by 1-6, 4-6 against Anastasia Gasanova and Oksana Selekhmetva.

Karman Thandi may have lost her singles battle against Eugenie Bouchard, but her victory in the doubles was sensational. She, alongside Rutuja Bhosale, won the match 3-6, 7-6, 10-4 against Jessy Rompies and Prarthna Thombare to qualify for the second round of the Chennai Open. It was an All-Indian encounter that went in Bhosale and Thandi’s favor. Karman lost her singles match by 2-6, 6-7 against the Canadian.
