Indian Sports in 2023: Top events to look forward to in February
Wrestling and Badminton are some of the top sports that will take place this month.
The month of January has been one filled with action for sports enthusiasts. From the Hockey World Cup to the Australian Open, January has given us many valuable moments to cherish. But the action does not stop there. There are many events for Indian sports fans to look forward to in February as well. Here is a look at the top events that Indian Sports fans can look forward to in February.
Wrestling
Zagreb Ranking Series
The Zagreb Open ranking series, set to be held from the 1st of February to the 5th of February, will be the first wrestling tournament of the year 2023. The city of Zagreb in Croatia will play the host. 600 wrestlers will be participating in the competition across three categories (freestyle, women, and Greco-Roman)
India was sending a strong contingent for the Zagreb Ranking Series which consists of the likes of Olympic medalists Bajrang Punia and Ravi Dahiya but they pulled their name out due to their protest against WFI. Below is a list of the Indian wrestlers who will be competing in Zagreb.

Greco-Roman: Manjeet (55kg), Gyanender (60kg), Sagar (63kg), Karanjit Singh (67kg), Ashu (67kg), Ankit Gulia (72kg), Sajan (77kg), Rohit Dahiya (82kg), Sunil Kumar (87kg), Sushant (87kg), Narinder Cheema (97kg), Naveen (130kg)
Egypt Ranking Series
The second-ranking series of the year is scheduled to be held in February as well. The Egypt Ranking series is set to be held from February 23-26 in Alexandria, Egypt. Around 400 wrestlers from around the world will take part in the tournament. The Indian wrestlers who will take part in the competition are yet to be announced.
Badminton
Asian Mixed Team Championship
The third edition of the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships is set to be held from 14th February to 19th February in Dubai. The Asian Mixed team Championship is a continental badminton tournament that started in 2017 to determine the best mixed national badminton teams in Asia.
The Indian team will be led by PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy. Both of them are the highest-ranked Indian Badminton players in the women’s and men’s singles respectively. India was knocked out of the group stages in the previous edition of the competition. The Indian shuttlers who will participate in the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships 2023 are

Table Tennis
WTT Star Contender Goa 2023
Goa is all set to host the first Star Contender tier event of the year. This will be the first time that India is hosting a WTT series. WTT Star Contender, Goa is set to be held from 27th February- 5th March at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium.
However, the list of paddlers who will be participating in the event is yet to be announced.
