India's Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju launched the official Olympic theme song of the Indian contingent for the Tokyo Olympics on Wednesday. The official Olympic song was launched at an event at the JLN Stadium in New Delhi.

Kiren Rijiju attended the event as a chief guest on the occasion of International Olympic Day. The event was organised by Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and attended by its President, Secretary General, Deputy Chef De Mission, Sports Secretary and DG Sports Authority of India (SAI).

Star singer Mohit Chauhan composed and sang the song titled "Lakshya Tera Samne Hai." He sang the song at the event at JLN Stadium in front of a number of guests.

The song has also been composed to motivate the Indian players participating at the upcoming Tokyo Olympics. The Olympic Games will take place from July 23 to 8 August and over 100 Indian athletes have qualified for the event so far.

India's golfer Anirban Lahiri is the latest name to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics. He qualified for the Olympic Games after finding a place in the men’s 60-player Olympic rankings. Lahiri accepted the second opportunity to compete at the Tokyo Olympics with open arms.

He remarked, "It was a big surprise, I wasn’t expecting it. Even though I’ve earned it, it doesn’t really feel like I’ve really earned it. I know how far below my potential I’ve played this year. It’s a gift and an opportunity, so why would I throw it away."

Anirban Lahiri is currently preparing for this week’s PGA TOUR stop at the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands, Connecticut. Earlier, the Haryana government had announced that sportspersons representing the state will be awarded if they win a Gold medal at the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.

According to a report, athletes would be given a cash amount of Rs 6 crore if they win a gold medal at the Tokyo 2020.
