Indian golfers Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar have qualified for the Paris Olympics 2024, as per the final women’s list of qualified players released by the International Golf Federation (IGF).
Aditi, ranked 60th in the world, qualified for the Games by placing 24th in the Olympic Golf Rankings. Diksha, ranked 167th, secured her spot by claiming the 40th position. They join Shubhankar Sharma and Gaganjeet Bhullar in the four-member Indian golf team for Paris Olympics.
This will be Aditi’s third Olympic appearance, the most for an Indian golfer. She had finished a career-best fourth at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, narrowly missing out on a bronze medal. Diksha, on the other hand, will be competing in her second Olympics after making her debut in Tokyo, where she finished tied for 50th.
For Sharma and Bhullar, the Paris Games will mark their maiden Olympic appearances. The men’s golf events are scheduled from August 1-4, while the women’s competition will take place from August 7–10 at the Le Golf National in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.
Diksha is the only golfer to have appeared in both the Olympics and the Deaflympics, where she is a two-time medalist. She is also the second Indian woman to win on the Ladies European Tour (LET) after Aditi remains the youngest to do so at the age of 18.

How do golfers qualify for Paris Olympics 2024?
The International Golf Federation (IGF) has announced a comprehensive qualification system for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The process involves the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) and the newly introduced Olympic Golf Rankings (OGR).
The top 15 world-ranked players will automatically secure their spot in the Olympic field, while the remaining quota places will be allocated to players ranked lower on the OGR. The IGF ensures that at least one golfer will qualify from France and that each of the five continents will be represented by at least one male and one female athlete.
The OGR will be calculated weekly, with points awarded based on a player’s final position in various tournaments, weighted by the strength of the field. This “rolling” two-year ranking system ensures that only the most consistent and high-performing golfers will earn a coveted spot in the Olympic competition.
Notable names have requested to be removed from consideration for their respective countries, opening the door for other talented golfers to seize their Olympic opportunities. The golf competition at the Paris 2024 Olympics will take place from August 1-10 at the renowned Golf National course.
