Pakistan will have seven athletes representing the nation at Paris Olympics 2024.

The Paris Olympics 2024 will see Pakistan sending their top athletes to compete at the games. Men’s javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem and women’s swimmer Jehanara Nabi will be the flag-bearers for Pakistan at Paris Olympics 2024.

Women’s badminton player Mahoor Shahzad and men’s shooter Khalil Akhtar were the flag-bearers for Pakistan at Tokyo Olympics 2020. This time it will be the young duo of Nadeem and Nabi.

Nadeem is one of the most prolific track and field athletes from Pakistan. He had become the first from his country to reach an Olympic final in track and field at Tokyo Olympics 2020. He finished fifth in the final.

Joining Nadeem will be the country’s swimming prodigy Nabi. The 20-year-old swimmer currently holds eight national records in the pool and qualified for Paris Olympics 2024 through universality rankings.

Nabi broke all eight national records this season. She set the records in 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m freestyle. The youngster also broke the records in 200m butterfly, 200m individual medley and 400m individual medley.

At Paris Olympics 2024, Nabi will be competing in the women’s 200m freestyle. Her career best timing in the event is 2:08.57 seconds.

While it will be Nabi’s first time at the Olympics, Nadeem will be competing for the second time. He had finished fifth in Tokyo with a throw of 84.62m. His personal best of 90.18m is only behind Chinese Taipei’s Cheng Chao-tsun among Asian athletes.

The 27-year-old finished fourth at the Paris Diamond League 2024 which was held on July 7. It has been the only event in which Nadeem has competed in this season. He ended the event with a best throw of 84.21m.

Nadeem had undergone knee surgery at the start of this season and has now recovered to be fit for the Paris Olympics 2024. Nadeem will be seeking a historic finish in the Javelin throw to make his country proud in Paris.

The Pakistan contingent at Paris Olympics 2024 will see a total of 18 members, including seven athletes. Three shooters, two swimmers and two track and field athletes will be participating in Paris. They will be joined by the medical staff, coaches and Olympic Committee officials.
