The Paris Olympics 2024 closing ceremony will take place on August 11 (Sunday) following the conclusion of all events. Athletes from 206 nations will once again assemble for the parade. Indian fans will again witness the nation’s top athletes during the parade in the closing ceremony at Paris.
The flag-bearers of their respective nations will lead their contingents in the parade at Stade de France which has a seating capacity of 80,000. Unlike the opening ceremony which took place at river Seines, the closing ceremony shall uphold the tradition of hosting it in a stadium.
After 17 days of action at the quadrennial event, the time has come for the Olympic torch to be extinguished. The Paris Olympics 2024 had begun with the men’s football match where Morocco defeated Argentina and the event ended with the women’s basketball final where USA defeated hosts, France.
The closing ceremony will also involve passing on the Olympic flag to the hosts of the next edition. The next Summer Olympics will be held in Los Angeles in 2028.
