Which sports received biggest funding support in India's Paris Olympics 2024 cycle?

As the Paris Olympics 2024 approach, India’s sports scene is on the rise. The country has poured money and support into its athletes, aiming for success on the world stage.
Indian athletes heading to Paris have been training hard and competing internationally. This preparation is thanks to programs like the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) run by the Sports Authority of India. Government-owned companies and private businesses have also chipped in.
So far, India has spent 470 crore rupees on 16 sports where its athletes have qualified. From archery to wrestling, each sport has gotten special attention. Athletes have attended training camps at home and traveled abroad to gain experience.
The Indian team includes some new faces in less common sports. For example, Anush Agarwalla will compete in horse riding (equestrian dressage), while Tulika Maan represents India in judo.

#10 Judo: 6.33 crore
Tulika Maan is the sole Indian judoka to have qualified for Paris 2024 in the 78kg weight class. In preparation for the Olympic Games, a total of 6 national camps and 15 foreign exposure trips were supported. This support was aimed at nurturing 9 TOPS development judokas alongside Tulika Maan.
#9 Table Tennis: 12.92 crore
For the Paris cycle, a total of 7 national camps and 173 foreign exposure trips were given. This support was provided for 7 TOPS core paddlers and 5 development paddlers.
#8 Weightlifting: 27 crore
Olympic silver medallist Mirabai Chanu will be the sole contender for a medal in the 49kg weightlifting category from India. For the Paris 2024 cycle, the Indian government supported a total of 9 international competitions and 9 national camps. This support encompassed 2 TOPS core lifters and 6 development lifters.
#7 Wrestling: 37.80 crore
For the Paris cycle, a total of 19 national camps and 66 foreign exposure trips were supported. This support was provided to 10 TOPS core wrestlers and 15 development wrestlers.
#6 Archery: 39.18 crore
In the Paris Olympics cycle during 2021-24, the Indian government supported a total of 41 national camps and 24 foreign exposure trips including 5 TOPS core and 13 developmental archers.
#5 Hockey: 41.30 crore
The Indian hockey team returned with a bronze medal in Tokyo 2020, ending a 41-year waiting for a podium finish. 76 national camps and 36 trips for foreign exposure in all were supported by the Government of India for Paris 2024, including 33 TOPS core players.
#4 Shooting: 60.42 crore
With 21 shooters set to contest Paris 2024, the Indian government opened their coffers for offering excellent financial support to get ready for this quadrennial extravaganza. During this build-up, it supported 96 foreign exposure trips and 45 national camps. Summer Olympics that included 25 TOPS core and 20 development shooters.
#3 Boxing: 60.93 crore
Supported 17 national camps and 23 foreign exposure trips in the build-up to the Olympic Games in Paris, to a total of 9 TOPS core and 20 development pugilists.
#2 Badminton: 72.03 crore
A total of 13 national camps and 81 foreign exposure trips were supported in the Paris. There were 10 TOPS core and 15 development shuttlers on mission.
#1 Athletics: 96.08 crore
A 28-member track and field team will represent India at the Paris Olympics. In total, with the support of the Indian government, support for 36 national camps and 85 foreign exposure trips that includes 23 core and 13 development track and field athletes in the TOPS.
