Tulika Mann is the sole Indian representative.

Tulika Mann, a 25-year-old Judoka, will be India’s sole representative at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. She qualified for the 78+ kg women’s judo category, marking her Olympic debut.

Mann secured her spot through a continental quota, earning 1345 ranking points during the qualification period from June 2022 to June 2024. Her silver medal at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games significantly boosted her Olympic chances.

Despite her achievement, Mann faces tough competition. She enters the Olympics with one of the lowest ranking points in her category, with only three competitors ranked below her.

Top contenders include France’s Romane Dicko, who has the highest ranking points (7925) and is favoured for gold. Japan’s Akira Sone, the 2020 Olympic gold medalist and Cuba’s Idalys Ortiz, the 2020 silver medalist, are also strong competitors.

Mann’s journey from winning gold at the 2019 Asian Games to qualifying for the Olympics shows her progress. However, she’ll need to overcome significant challenges to secure a medal in Paris.
