Top five oldest medallists at Paris Olympics 2024

The veterans made sure to make their presence felt at the podiums during Paris Olympics 2024.
The Paris Olympics 2024 saw athletes setting new benchmarks and records. The limits were pushed by senior athletes as few of them were competing at their final summer games. There were athletes who were considerably older than their rivals but still finished on the podium.
The senior athletes used their experience and were calm while competing at the highest level. The intense battles were taken over by composure in the key moments. The wins ensured medals as well as age records for the athletes at the games.

Yoshiaki Oiwa- Bronze in team eventing under equestrian
Yoshiaki Oiwa won the bronze medal in team eventing under equestrian. The Japanese team of Kazuma Tomoto, Toshiyuki Tanaka, Ryuzo Kitajima and Oiwa made a strong finish even though they were struck with a replacement penalty. Oiwa was 48 years, 11 months and 25 days old when he received his first Olympic medal at Paris.
Karim Laghouag- Silver in team eventing under equestrian
Karim Laghouag of France won the silver medal in the team eventing event under equestrian. He was 48 years, 11 months and 25 days old while competing with Nicolas Touzaint and Stephane Landois.

Yusuf Dikec- Silver in mixed 10m air pistol
Yusuf Dikec of Turkiye was arguably the most calm and composed athlete at Paris Olympics 2024. His performance during the final of the 10m air pistol mixed event went viral as he did not wear any sporting equipment and was relaxed while competing. At the age of 51 years, 6 months, 29 days, Dikec went on to win silver with his teammate Sevval Ilayda Tarhan. She was only 24 years old.
Yusuf Dikec’s shooting pose was recreated by Mondo Duplantis after his world record feat while winning gold in men’s pole vault. Many other athletes recreated his Dikec’s after winning at Paris Olympics 2024.
Carl Hester- Bronze in team dressage under equestrian
Carl Hester was 57 years, 1 month, 5 days when he won the bronze medal in team dressage under equestrian. Hester competed with Becky Moody and Charlotte Fry as they represented team Great Britain.
Laura Kraut- Silver in team jumping under equestrian
Laura Kraut became the oldest medallist at the Paris Olympics 2024 when she won the silver in team jumping under equestrian. She was 58 years, 8 months and 19 days old while competing alongside her teammates, McLain Ward and Karl Cook representing team United States of America. She was the only female athlete on the podium.
