Paris Olympics 2024 opening ceremony will take place on July 26.

The 33rd edition of the Olympics has begun with athletes showcasing their best on the field. While the events have already started, the Paris Olympics 2024 opening ceremony will take place on July 26 at river Seines.

It will be the first time in the history of the Olympics that the opening ceremony will not be taking place in a stadium. There will be 10,500 athletes from 206 National Olympic Committees taking part during the opening ceremony.

The athletes will be part of the 6km parade along river Seines. It will begin from the Austerlitz bridge and end at the Trocadero. There will be over 100 boats during the opening ceremony.

The 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics opening ceremony was held in the Maracana stadium. Musicians Paulinho Da Viola, Alberto Santos-Dumont, Daniel Jobim, Jorge Ben and model Gisele Bündchen were part of the opening ceremony.

The 2020 Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony was held at the New National Stadium in the Shinjuku ward. Takayuki Hioki was the musical director and Kentarō Kobayashi was the director of the ceremony. Artists such as Angélique Kidjo, Alejandro Sanz, John Legend, Keith Urban, Misia and Mirai Moriyama took part in the opening ceremony.

Thomas Jolly is the artistic director of the Paris Olympics 2024 opening ceremony. The ceremonies choreographer, Maud Le Pladec has informed that every bridge along the parade route will have dancers performing on it.
