The USA have sent 592 athletes for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The United States of America team is gearing up for a dominant showing in the 2024 Paris Olympics, with a whopping 592 athletes chosen to represent the nation in the iconic competition.
The USA team has always been a strong force in the Olympics. They have participated in almost every single Summer Olympic Games in history, barring only the 1980 edition that was held in Moscow due to political issues. They have participated in every single Winter Olympic Games ever since it began in 1924.
Over the history of the Olympic Games, the USA have won a record 2,667 medals. This includes 1077 gold medals, 840 silver and 750 bronze. The USA also hold the record for most medals won by a single athlete, which was achieved by iconic swimmer Michael Phelps – who won an incredible 28 medals in his career.
Athletics has been the strongest suit for Team USA in Olympics history, as they have bagged 827 medals (344 gold). Swimming has also been one of their areas of domination, as they have collected 578 medals (257 gold) and 116 medals in shooting (57 gold) over the course of the Summer Olympics.
Team USA are leading in 15 different sports in terms of most medals won in the history of the Olympics. They had a brilliant showing in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, winning the most medals (113) among all the countries. They bagged 39 gold medals, the most by any nation and one more than China.
In Paris 2024, Team USA will be participating in 34 different sports. As usual, Athletics remains their strongest suit and the country is aiming to get multiple medals from that category – with 120 different athletes chosen just for this. The USA have the strongest team in basketball led by LeBron James (who is also their flag-bearer for the opening ceremony) and they are expected to earn gold in this too.
USA’s aspirations are nothing short of retaining their crown on the No.1 spot when it comes to topping the medal chart in the Paris Olympics. They will be desperately looking to win the most gold medals and pip the likes of China, Japan and Great Britain in this.
With all being said, let us look at the entire USA contingent for Paris Olympics 2024.
