India added two more medals to its tally on Day 10 of the Paris Paralympics 2024. Navdeep clinched a gold in the men’s javelin F41 final with a personal best throw of 47.32m. Originally finishing second, he was elevated to first place after Iran’s Sadegh Beit Sayah was disqualified for misconduct. Simran also shone, winning bronze in the women’s 200m T12 race.
In other events, Arshad Shaik and Jyoti Gaderiya competed in the men’s and women’s C1-3 para cycling road races, finishing a lap behind the leaders. Suyash Narayan Jadhav came 10th in the men’s 50m butterfly heats, while Yash Kumar finished fifth in the para canoe semifinals. Tokyo debutant Prachi Yadav secured a commendable eighth place in the Women’s Va’a Single 200m – VL2 final.

On Day 10 of Paris Paralympics 2024, India earned two medals from five medal events that they competed in. Simran Sharma won bronze in Women’s 200m T12 final. In the men’s javelin F41 final, Navdeep Singh clinched gold with a personal best throw of 47.32m. Initially finishing second, he was promoted to first place after the original winner was disqualified for misconduct.

In other competitions, Dilip Gavit competed in the men’s 400m T47 final but did not medal. In para cycling, Arshad Shaik and Jyoti Gaderiya finished their races a lap behind the leaders in the men’s and women’s C1-3 road race finals, respectively.
Paris Paralympics 2024: Updated India medal tally after Day 10 (September 7)
India’s stellar performance at the Paris Paralympics 2024 reached new heights as the country added two more medals, bringing its total to 29, their highest-ever at the Games.
The Games have been historic for India, featuring remarkable achievements across various disciplines. Avani Lekhara won gold in the women’s 10m air rifle, and Sumit Antil secured back-to-back golds in men’s javelin throw F64. Nitesh Kumar and Harvinder Singh also contributed to the medal tally with gold in badminton and archery respectively.
India’s other success includes Manish Narwal, Nishad Kumar, and Suhas Yathiraj, among others.
What to expect from the Indian contingent on Day 11, September 8?
As the Paris Paralympics 2024 wraps up on Sunday, September 8, India will have one final competitor: Pooja Ojha. She will be racing in the Women’s Kayak Single 200m KL1 event. Ojha, who finished last in her heats with a time of 1:16.09, will get another chance in the semifinals. If she qualifies, she will also compete in the finals.
