China becomes the first nation to win more than 100 medals at Paris Paralympics 2024.

The Paris Paralympics 2024 is continuing to see athletes from different regions uniting to shatter records across disciplines. Over 22 nations have entered the double-digit mark in the medal tally as the games only have four more days to go. The race for the leaderboard in the medal tally has taken a pause for now as China has taken a huge leap.

Day 6 of Paris Paralympics 2024 saw Rebecca Hart of USA winning gold in individual event grade three under equestrian. Rixt van der Horst of Netherlands took silver as Natasha Baker clinched bronze.

India registered its best Paralympic medal tally yet with five medals being added to a total of 20. Deepthi Jeevanji began the medal rush with a bronze in women’s 400m T20. The men’s high jump T63 saw Sharad Kumar and Mariyappan Thangavelu winning silver and bronze respectively.

The men’s javelin throw F46 also saw multiple Indians finishing on the podium. Ajeet Singh won silver and Sundar Singh Gujrar finished third. India is in 19th position with three golds, seven silvers and 10 bronze.

China has become the first nation to breach the triple digit mark at Paris Paralympics 2024. It has won 52 gold, 40 silver and 22 bronze medals. Zou Lijuan won gold in women’s shot put F34 while compatriot Zhang Liangmin repeated the feat in women’s discus throw F11. Over to swimming, Wang Jingang finished first in men’s 50m butterfly S6. The men’s and women’s 50m backstroke S5 saw the nation sweeping the podium.

Great Britain is showing its strength with a second-place finish after day 6 in the medal tally at Paris Paralympics 2024. It has so far won 30 gold, 18 silver and 13 bronze. The women’s 100m butterfly S10 saw Faye Rogers win gold while compatriot Callie Ann Warrington picked up the silver medal. Piers Gilliver clinched silver in men’s sabre category under wheelchair fencing.

Coming in third place is the USA with 20 gold, 22 silver and 11 bronze medals. Fiona Howard secured gold in individual grade two under equestrian. Christie Raleigh-Crossley made a splash with a gold medal in women’s 100m backstroke S9 under swimming. Leanne Smith followed pursuit in women’s 100m freestyle S3.

Brazil is nearing the half century mark in the medal tally of Paris Paralympics 2024. The nation has won 14 gold, 11 silver and 23 bronze medals. The men’s 1500m T11 saw Yeltsin Jacques and Julio Cesar win gold and bronze respectively. In the women’s 100m T11 it was similar as Jerusa Geber finished on top as Lorena Silver came in third.

France is still in contention for a top three finish in the medal tally of Paris Paralympics 2024. The hosts have amassed 11 golds, 12 silvers and 15 bronze. Mateo Bohas won the bronze medal in men’s singles MS10 under table tennis. Ugo Didier continued his medal winning spree with a silver medal in men’s 100m backstroke S9. Alex Portal also secured a swimming medal as he finished second in the men’s 200m individual medley SM13.
