Great Britain hopeful of crossing the triple digit mark in medal tally of Paris Paralympics 2024.

The Paris Paralympics 2024 is nearing its final stages as every nation is hoping to surpass their expectations. More than 80 nations have so far experienced podium finishes at the 17th edition of the games. The top three in the medal tally have taken a huge lead over the rest. With only three days left, there could be a shuffle between the top three nations.

Day 7 of Paris Paralympics 2024 began with Sarah Storey of Great Britain winning gold in women’s C5 individual time trial under Para cycling. Heidi Gaugain took the silver for the host nation while Alana Forster finished third in the event.

The successful campaign continued for India as the nation collected four medals including two gold. Harvinder Singh became the first Indian to win gold in archery as he took the honours in men’s individual recurve open. He was joined by Dharambir who set an area record on his way to securing gold in men’s F51 club throw.

Pranav Soorma came in second behind Dharambir as they occupied the top two spots in the podium. Sachin Sarejaro won silver in men’s shot put F46. India is currently in 13th place in the medal tally with five golds, nine silvers and 10 bronze.

There has been no changes in the top of the medal tally as China is closing in on the 150 medals mark. The nation has now won 62 golds, 46 silvers and 27 bronze. Chen Jianxin started the day with a gold in men’s T1-2 individual time trial under para cycling. The next gold was produced in shooting by Yang Chao in mixed 50m pistol SH 1. In wheelchair fencing, Zou Xufeng and Gu Haiyan came in first and second respectively.

Great Britain has been improving its consistency each day at Paris Paralympics 2024. It has won 33 golds, 25 silvers, 16 bronze. Samantha Kinghorn sprinted her way to glory in women’s 100m T53. Dimitri Coutya claimed gold in men’s foil category B under wheelchair fencing. Fran Brown secured the top place in women’s C1-3 individual time trial.

USA has been picking up the pace as it has now accumulated 25 golds, 26 silvers and 12 bronze. Samantha Bosco recorded a strong finish to win gold in women’s C4 individual time trial as Oksana Masters did the same in women’s H4-5 individual time trial. The para cycling success story continued with Katerina Brim winning the gold in women’s H1-3 individual time trial.

Netherlands has made a giant leap from ninth place to fourth place in the medal tally of Paris Paralympics 2024. Dutch athletes have secured 16 golds, seven silvers and five bronze. Marieke Van Soest started the gold medal rush in women’s T1-2 individual time trial under para cycling.

The result was similar for Tristan Bangma in men’s B individual time trial and Daniel Abraham in men’s C5 individual time trial. Mitch Valize and Jetze Plat recorded top finishes in the men’s H5 and H6 Individual time trial respectively.

France has stayed on course for a top five finish in the medal tally at Paris. The hosts have so far won 15 golds, 17 silvers and 18 bronze. Alexandre Leaute won the first gold on day 8 for France in the men’s C2 individual time trial under para cycling. Mathieu Bosredon finished first as Johan Quaile came in second in the men’s H3 individual time trial. The 50th medal of the nation at Paris was won by Fabien Lamirault in men’s singles MS2 under table tennis.
