Paris Paralympics 2024 opening ceremony will take place on August 28.
The Paris Paralympics 2024 opening ceremony is only a day away. The 17th edition of the Paralympics is awaiting 4,400 athletes to take part in the parade which will take place at Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Elysees in central Paris. The parade will begin from Place de la Concorde and then make its way to Champs-Elysees for the rest of the opening ceremony on August 28.
Once the 184 contingents assemble at Champs-Elysees, the stage will be set for artists to perform. Artistic director, Thomas Jolly will be handling the performances and has promised the audience that the programs will showcase talents never seen before. Victor Le Masne will hope to inspire the athletes as well as the audience with his musical compositions.
Swedish choreographer Alexander Ekman has said it is a political and festive event. Louis-Gabriel Nouchi under the guidance of costume director Daphne Burki has designed over 700 outfits for the performers. Over 150 dancers with disabilities will also be performing at the opening ceremony.
The opening ceremony will lay importance on the cultural heritage of the city and the games. Perle Bouge, a two-time Paralympic Para rowing medallist and member of the Paris 2024 Athletes’ Commission has said that the ceremony will focus on pride, impatience and determination. He said that these were the feelings that had come first while discussing the concept of the ceremony.

The ceremony is divided into four stages which will go on for over three hours. While the spectators can view the first stage of the opening ceremony for free at Place de la Concorde. The next three stages will be accessible to ticket holders as they can watch the rituals as well as the on stage performances.
Who are all performing at the Paris Paralympics 2024 opening ceremony?
Thomas Jolly is the artistic director of the Paris Paralympics 2024 opening ceremony. Victor Le Masne will be composing the music while Alexander Ekman will be taking care of the choreography.
The costumes of the performers are designed by Daphne Burki and Louis-Gabriel Nouchi. There will be artists from all around the world performing on the stage.
Where and how to watch the Paris Paralympics 2024 opening ceremony in India?
The Paris Paralympics 2024 opening ceremony can be watched in India on Jio Cinema. Sports 18 is the official Indian broadcaster for the Summer Games but will only be telecasting the highlights. The Jio Cinema app or the website can be used for free by Indian fans.
DD sports channel 1.0 will live telecast the event in India. Additionally Olympics.com, Paralympic YouTube Channel and the International Paralympic Committee website will also live stream the event (subject to territorial restrictions).
