When and where will next edition of Summer Olympics take place?

The 2028 Summer Games will include five new sports.

The Paris Olympics 2024 are coming to an end. But, the dates and venue for the next Summer Olympics have already been confirmed. The 2028 Summer Games will be held in Los Angeles and are scheduled from July 14 to 30.

They are to be known as the LA 2028 Olympics and it will be the third time that the Games are conducted in Los Angeles. The Games were first held in Los Angeles in 1932 and then in 1984. Los Angeles won the bid for hosting the Games in 2017.

There will be three main venues which will mostly be used during the LA 2028 Games. The convention centre in downtown Los Angeles, Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area.

Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is set to be the first stadium to host three Olympic opening ceremonies and as many track and field Olympic events. It is an historic venue, especially for USA athletes as Carl Lewis had completed his four gold medals feat at the stadium in 1984. He won gold in 100m, 200m, long jump and 4x100m.

The LA 2028 Olympics has esteemed athletes such as four-time Olympic gold medalist, Michael Johnson and 14-time Olympic medalist Katie Ledecky in its voluntary board of directors.

What sports will make their debut & comeback at LA 2028 Olympics?

Flag football and quash will make their Olympic debut at LA 2028. Meanwhile, baseball, lacrosse and cricket will also be included at LA 2028. Fans will finally be able to see the stars representing their nations at the biggest sporting event in the world.

Unfortunately, according to reports breaking will not be part of the LA 2028 Olympics. Break-dancing has been part of Paris Olympics 2024, but will have to wait for a few more years to be a permanent fixture at the Games.

There will be over 50 Olympic sports and more than 800 events which will take place at the LA 2028 Olympics. They will make sure to surpass the standards and records set at Paris Olympics 2024.
