'Let’s celebrate the freedom' - Indian sports fraternity reacts on social media on 78th Independence Day

On August 15, 2024, India is celebrating its 78th anniversary of independence. The 2024 Paris Olympics concluded recently, and the Indian sportspersons were invited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to his office for facilitation, earlier today.
However, on the occasion of Independence Day, several Indian athletes took to social media and penned heartwarming notes for the nation. Thus, with that being said, let’s take a look at how the sports fraternity reacted on social media on 2024 Independence Day.
Indian shuttler HS Prannoy wrote on social media, “Representing the tricolour and this wonderful country is a privilege that fills me with pride every day. Let’s celebrate the freedom that allows us to dream big and achieve greatness. Happy Independence Day.”
Former BWF World No. 1 Saina Nehwal, badminton star Lakshya Sen, field hockey player Rani Rampal, and former Indian goaltender PR Sreejesh also took to social media for Independence Day.

Two-time Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra and former Indian wrestler Babita Phogat also took to social media on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day.
Indian cricket batsman Shikhar Dhawan wrote, “Saluting the brave hearts who gave us the gift of freedom! May we keep the spirit of unity and patriotism alive. Wishing everyone a very Happy Independence Day!”
MMA star Ritu Phogat, Indian badminton Paralympian Pramod Bhagat, former amateur wrestler Pawan Saroha, and cricket legend Virender Sehwag also wished a happy Independence Day to their fans.
