A lineup of 27 sports will be held in the SFA Championships 2024.

The SFA Championships 2024 Mumbai set the stage for the thrills ahead with exhilarating hockey action on Day 1. In the boys’ U-12 tournament, Don Bosco High School (SSC), Matunga, dominated the field, winning both their matches to secure the top spot on the table. Meanwhile, in the boys’ U-14 category, Children’s Academy, Malad, showcased their prowess, gaining a decisive upper hand with a win and a draw.

The SFA Championships 2024 have brought a thrilling lineup of 27 sports to Mumbai for the seventh edition. Monday, Day 1 of the Championships in the city, witnessed the start of football, Hockey and Kabaddi preliminaries, with further events scheduled for the coming days.

Sports For All (SFA) is committed to professionalising, organising, and monetising grassroots sports, aiming to foster a culture that values and invests in sports nationwide. The championships this year will run until December 12th, roping in participants from across Jaipur in a hunt for the best talents.

This year, more than 21,000 athletes from over 790 schools, ranging from ages 3 to 18, are competing across multiple venues in the city, highlighting the event’s remarkable growth and its commitment to nurturing young sporting talent.

Elsewhere, Swami Vivekanand High School & Jr College, Chembur, bagged the first gold medal of the kabaddi tournament after defeating Vinoba Bhave Nagar High School, Kurla, in the final of the boys u-17 event. Meanwhile, the build-up toward the medal events continued in the boys u-14 and girls u-17 event, as teams fought tooth and nail to gain every advantage.

The Championships this year will be peppered with special days, adding to the excitement. Wednesday, December 4, will be celebrated as Flag Off day, while Saturday, December 7, will be reserved for celebrating the achievements of women in a special ‘She is Gold’ day.

Eighty per cent of the events on the day will feature women, who will also get to engage in special activities. Finally, Wednesday, December 11, will focus on the accomplishments of those in the dugouts, with a celebration of ‘Coach Day.’
