Mohammed Rafique is an Indian International who plays as a Central midfielder for East Bengal in the I-League and for Atlético de Kolkata in ISL.
After spending his youth career at Tollygunge Agragami, Mohammed Rafique rose through the ranks at United SC. The versatile youngster can fit in as a centre forward, winger or attacking midfielder and three seasons with the purple shirts have given him the maturity to excel in pressure situations. An excellent team player, he is used to playing second fiddle to stars like Ranti Martins who will now keep him company in East Bengal in the months ahead. But for now, Rafique will seek to grow in stature at Atletico under the perceptive Jose Baretto and the widely travelled Antonio Habas.
Scored winner against East Bengal in semis and against JCT in final to help Chirag United to a historic triumph in the Durand Cup 2010.
The feats helped him bag player of the tournament award.
Won IFA Shield with Prayag United in 2013 after losing to East Bengal in the final a year earlier.
