Nicolas Velez is a product of the acclaimed River Plate youth academy in Argentina. Before joining the Highlanders in 2015, the right-footed striker spent his playing career with Atlético Huracán (Argentina), Atlético Sanluqueño (Spain) and Warriors FC (Singapore).
He had a successful stint in Singapore, bagging the S-League title and Young Player-of-the-Year award in 2014 and the Singapore Charity Shield Award in 2015.
Velez scored 29 goals in 38 appearances for Warriors FC in Singapore. He was NorthEast United FC’s top-scorer with five goals in Hero ISL 2015 and will be looking to better his tally in the upcoming season.
