A native of Gurdaspur, Punjab, Pawan Kumar is an imposing presence in front of goal. After representing Chennaiyin FC, he will now play under Eelco Schattorie’s stewardship at NorthEast United FC for the 2018-19 campaign.
Born in Gurdaspur, Punjab, Kumar made his I-League debut from JCT's youth set-up in 2010 and led them to the Durand Cup final, which his side lost 1-0. One of five players to train at Wolverhampton Wanderers Academy for a week as part of a partnership between Wolves and JCT, Kumar has since gone on to represent Air India, Salgaocar, Bengaluru FC and Mumbai FC in the I-League. He joined Chennaiyin ahead of the second season but is yet to make his bow for them.
